iPhone for Bonsai
With a quarter-million apps for iPhone, it occurred to me there might be some useful bonsai apps in there. A quick search revealed several dozen but many are for things like creating your own virtual pet bonsai, which I’m sure I could kill as efficiently as I do my real ones.

Bernie Gastrich Returns For Double Event
On June 26 Bernie Gastrich will offer his expert photography services to club members at PFM Bonsai. Bring your favorite bonsai to be photographed by Bernie in the morning from 9 AM to Noon, followed by our noon social and lunch hour. After lunch we’ll have an open pine workshop as a follow up to Bernie’s incredible Pine Lecture. Bring the tree you worked on then or different pine(s) you need some help with. Bernie is one of the best pine artists around. Be sure to bring pines and other bonsai for the display area too.
MHBS to display trees at Japan-themed NORI Awards
JUNE 10 MHBS TO PARTICIPATE IN SPECIAL SHOW IN THE KEY BANK ROOM
MHBS has been invited to show off some great bonsai and promote the club at the Albany Ad Club’s annual NORI Awards on June 10 at Proctors. The event’s theme is “Sayonori” and raffle proceed will benefit National Bonsai Foundation’s Tohoku Disaster Relief Fund in support of Japanese bonsai artists affected by the recent tsunami. Min Hsuan Lo demonstration June 6 at PFM Bonsai
Min Hsuan Lo
Come and see a world class demonstration on Monday, June 6. Tree to be raffled. Lo will be visiting us on a tour scheduled before his appearance at the ABS/ BCI Convention in Louisville KY. Jon Staples has located material for him to use from Jim Doyle of Nature’s Way Nursery. Note the special day and time. Feel free to bring in some great bonsai to show off the talents of our club. Bring a few cookies or snacks to welcome Lo. The Studio will open at 5 PM for a social hour before the demo at 6PM.
