It has been a busy spring at MHBS!
Kevin Ferris hosted/led a wonderful repotting workshop in March at DJH Bonsai. Attendees at various levels of experience worked on trees in pairs with hands on teaching, repotting, and guidance by Kevin.
There were many great tips and techinques that Kevin was able to share and everyone in attendance learned a ton.
A big thank you to Kevin Ferris for the teaching and The MHBS wishes him and his family all the best in their move to Japan…..stay in touch and we hope to see you down the road!
Next up is The Mid-Atlantic Bonsai Society (MABS) 2026 conference. MABS is a coalition of 11 bonsai societies from the northeast, of which The MHBS is a member club. They host a spring conference each year where the clubs gather and present displays. The MHBS participates in running the conference with the other clubs and also contributes 4 displays to the show.
Display prep took place shortly before the conference at DJH Bonsai in Feura Bush and many thanks to all the MHBS members that contributed trees to displays and also to those who attended the conference! Conference proceeds benefits the member clubs.
Members both attended and participated in the vendor area during the show. Everyone had a great time and we look forward MABS 2027! We hope you’ll consider joining us then 🙂
