Jim Doyle April 29 workshop reminder

Only three places remain in the April 29 workshop with one of our favorite teachers: Jim Doyle of Nature’s Way Nursery in Harrisburg PA. Jim is well respected in the world of bonsai. He travels throughout the USA and Europe as both a teacher and a favorite vendor of all things bonsai. Traveling often to Europe and Japan, he brings us the best in unique trees, pots and all things bonsai and Japanese.

During this trip to NY, he will do a two part program. In the morning you can work with Jim on one of your trees or purchase one from Pauline or Jim to work on. The workshop is $40 and will be limited, so email Pauline to reserve a place and send a check for $40 to Pieri made out to MHBS to secure your place in the workshop. Pieri Hayes, 550 Columbia St. Ext, Cohoes NY 12047.

The workshop will be followed by a BYO lunch and brief meeting.

The afternoon program will focus on bonsai display.  Since some of us will be setting up a display with our bonsai at the annual show the week after this meeting, you might want to bring in your bonsai and display items for expert advice from Jim.  Jim hopes to demonstrate displays using our materials.

Jim will be bringing a selection of trees and other bonsai items for sale also. There will be a raffle of a number of very nice items donated by members so remember to bring in show trees as they give you a free ticket in the raffle.

9 AM:  BYO or BUY Workshop
1 PM:  The Art of Bonsai Display
Workshop followed by BYO lunch, then the program at PFM Bonsai, 7 Western Av, West Charlton NY 12010.
